With December just around the corner starts the jolliest season of the year! Every year numerous couples choose December and the season’s festivities to pop the question and get engaged. What better opportunity of adding value to a celebration than announcing an engagement on Thanksgiving dinner? A thanksgiving engagement party is a lovely opportunity to give your thanks for finding your forever human while adding an extra celebratory element to the day, making this one you’ll remember forever!
A wedding photographer’s dream, a planner’s delight
It’s so easy to get caught up in our busy lives. From New Year’s resolutions to spring cleaning, and summer vacations to the holidays—life can come and go as quickly as the seasons. That’s why it’s so important to pause, reflect, and feel gratitude for all the blessings we have in our lives. In advance, thanksgiving is about creating an experience that is fun and meaningful for your family and guests. On thanksgiving, details are very important! Sometimes the smallest touches can make the most lasting impressions and the littlest of elements can create a never-before experience. A richer color palette, late fall fruits and vegetables, warming textures, and calming scents make the best choices for an engagement thanksgiving dinner!
Wedding photographer gaze; a warm thanksgiving engagement dinner
When creating this thanksgiving inspiration dinner all we could think about was a small gathering of friends and family that apart from being thankful, get together to celebrate an engagement as well. A filling meal with autumn’s richer flavors and sparkling wine were our choices for making it appropriate for the tradition while adding a wedding touch with the bubbly!
Nothing brings together a bountiful Thanksgiving spread like a beautiful floral centerpiece. They serve as a reminder to be grateful for all of life’s bounties and also add to the aesthetic of the engagement dinner. We opted for flowers that reflect the vibrant hues of the leaves outside. The chill in the air, the shorter days, and the golden, red, and orange leaves are all staples of the season. No Thanksgiving flower centerpiece is complete without a nod to these quintessential fall themes. However, adding a fine art element and a nod to the wedding that was being announced, we refreshed the centerpieces with white, light pinks, and full-of-texture seasonal berries!
The table was set in understated yet luxurious shades of grey to complement the richer shades of the flowers. Crystal glasses and shiny cutlery set the jolliest mood. Handcrafted menus and name cards with calligraphy added the bridal tone to the setting! Now’s the best moment to slip a little love note on your fiancé’s place on the table, a little something that will be cherished forever!
“Thanksgiving is the holiday of peace, the celebration of work and the simple life… a true folk-festival that speaks the poetry of the turn of the seasons, the beauty of seedtime and harvest, the ripe product of the year — and the deep, deep connection of all these things with our life” – Ray Stannard Baker
Autumn was never more refined or romantic and Thanksgiving is the most beautiful opportunity to announce your engagement and spread the excitement for your soon to be a wedding! We hope this setting inspires you to host your little gathering and share the great news and be thankful! Cheers to being in love and finding each other!
